The Opportunity

To drive and manage the MEICA elements of various wastewater projects for South West Water, ensuring programme and budget constraints are met. Safety and quality are paramount, and you will be responsible for inspections and testing to ensure the company's high standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vetting of subcontractors, inspecting their production, quality, and installation.
  • Planning and programming, supporting the wider project team to develop project programmes and prepare short-term programmes for specific activities.
  • Maintaining quality assurance records in accordance with company procedures, including ITPs and vesting.
  • Reviewing subcontractors' designs in accordance with SWW standards, for buildability, operation, and maintenance.
  • Supporting the production of operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Advising quantity surveyors of changes to specification and the financial impact on a project.
  • Providing technical assistance to the project manager and quantity surveyor regarding contractual disputes.
  • Actioning snagging resolution and maintenance repairs during the defect's liability period.
  • Site supervision of subcontractors during critical activities.
  • Supporting site commissioning if required.
Requirements
  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • CITB 5 Day SMSTS (desirable).
  • CSCS Card (desirable).
  • Experience of working in a contractor-based background within the water industry on sewage and water treatment works.
  • Understanding of NEC4 condition contract and budget control.
  • Ideal knowledge of project engineer/management techniques required in the design and construction of water and/or sewage treatment works.
