Speciality Doctor in Learning Disabilities

We are seeking a Specialty Doctor to join our Community Mental Health Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing patients with functional and organic conditions in outpatient clinics and the community. This is a full-time position based at Vale House Resource Centre, Winsford, and offers a relocation package of up to £8,000.
About the Role
- Assess and manage patients with functional and organic conditions in outpatient clinics and the community.
- Work closely with the existing full-time substantive consultant to provide medical input into the older adult's community mental health team.
- Contribute to the development of the Community Mental Health Team and participate in regular team meetings.

Person Specification
- Excellent knowledge in the specialty of older adult psychiatry.
- Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
- Makes decisions based on evidence and experience, including the contribution of others.
- Able to meet duties under the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
Qualifications
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act or able to achieve this within three months of appointment.
