The Chief Financial Officer will lead the financial strategy and direction of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, ensuring the highest standards of probity in all transactions. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this pivotal role demands an experienced finance executive with outstanding leadership credentials.
This is a senior finance leadership position that requires balancing stringent financial oversight and credibility with a passion for innovation. The successful candidate will ensure the Health Board meets all its statutory financial duties, operates with transparency, and delivers value for money. As an Executive member of the Board, the Director will hold corporate responsibility jointly with other Board members for the strategic direction, corporate policy making, and development and delivery of Health Board objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
• Ensure the successful achievement of each of the statutory financial targets
• Act as the prime source of advice to the Board on all aspects of financial management, stewardship, and governance
• Lead organisational responsibility for the delivery of the Health Board's financial strategy
• Prepare statutory accounts, service line reporting, and provide financial services and support
• Contribute to NHS Wales planning mechanisms and strategy development and delivery, engaging actively at a national level
Salary: £120,000 - £150,000 per annum. This is a competitive salary, reflective of the position's requirements and industry standards in the UK.
