Tax Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Accountant to join our team at Every Step Recruitment, Finance & Accountancy. As a Tax Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the VAT and Tax reporting for our client, covering Corporation Tax computations and Returns with a focus on Indirect taxes compliance and submissions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Working across all areas of taxation, including corporation tax, indirect tax, direct tax, capital allowances, tax strategy, tax risk, and tax compliance
  2. Preparing and submitting Corporation Tax and VAT Returns for the Group, ensuring timely payments to tax authorities
  3. Performing quarterly VAT reviews to minimize VAT liabilities and ensure compliance
  4. Providing quarterly GAAP and US GAAP reporting
  5. Ensuring the Company is fully compliant with the latest tax legislation
  6. Managing tax audits and liaising with tax authorities to resolve any queries
  7. Ad hoc tax reporting and advisory work
Requirements:
  1. ATT / ACCA / ACA or CIMA Qualified (preferred)
  2. A solid understanding of VAT regulations and UK Corporate Tax
  3. Experience of both Indirect and Direct tax
  4. Previous experience working within a fast-paced, high-volume business (preferred)
  5. US GAAP accounting experience (preferred)
  6. Ability to work at pace and to strict deadlines
  7. Strong MS Excel skills, including Vlookups, Pivot Tables, and data manipulation
  8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
