Job Title: History Teacher

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate History Teacher to join our team at one of our client schools in Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a History Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons that ignite curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation for the complexities of the past. The successful candidate will have a strong subject knowledge in history and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver the national curriculum or any other relevant curriculum standards, designing lessons that cover a wide range of historical periods, events, and themes.
  • Create or adapt teaching resources such as lesson plans, worksheets, and multimedia presentations to engage students and support their learning.
  • Maintain discipline and create a positive learning environment conducive to student engagement and participation.
  • Assess students' understanding through various methods such as exams, essays, projects, and presentations, providing constructive feedback to help students improve their historical knowledge, analytical skills, and writing abilities.
  • Organize or supervise extra-curricular activities such as history clubs, field trips to historical sites, or participation in historical competitions and events.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a teacher within an educational setting.
  • Original or certified copies of your degree certificates relevant to teaching history subjects.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) certificate or evidence of completion of a recognized teacher training program.
  • Strong subject knowledge in history.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
