Empower Family Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team within our residential children's homes.
We provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people who are under 18, supporting them to develop their independence skills and access education, play, and fun activities. Our homes are modern, spacious, and luxurious, with private bathrooms, and we also have a head office at Prockters Farm in Taunton, where we host face-to-face training and staff engagement events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality therapeutic care to children and young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, supporting their individual needs and promoting their independence.
- Maintain accurate records and administration, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Identify and support the religious, ethnic, gender, and cultural needs of young people, exploring local facilities and assisting them in making contact.
- Contribute to the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of individual care plans for young people who are looked after.
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to team building, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Take responsibility for developing a safe environment for yourself and our children and young people.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of risk assessments as appropriate.
- Communicate openly and regularly with the manager, providing verbal and written reports as required.
- Provide informal guidance to new home staff with the agreement and support of your line manager.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS check for child and adult workforce with barred list checks.
- Declaration of any convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings that are not protected.
- Age over 21 as permitted under the Equality Act 2010.
- No sponsorship offered.
