About the Role

Capital One is seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to join our backend Java team in Nottingham, UK.

This is a permanent position that offers a hybrid working model, allowing you to work from our office and from home. You will be based in our office three days a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software features that are delightful and vital to the lives of credit card consumers.
  • Work as part of a self-organised Services engineering team to deliver high-quality applications.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and solve problems of scale, security, availability, and performance.
Requirements
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality applications.
  • Solid programming skills with a good working knowledge of building APIs using modern OO languages such as Java, SOLID principles, SOA, HTTP, and REST.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
