English Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a qualified English teacher to join our team at a Leicester-based secondary school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and creative English lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Support, advise, guide, and supervise students throughout the school day.
  • Support English classes in the absence of the timetabled staff/teacher.
  • Deliver cover work established in the absence of the teacher.
  • Maintain good order and ensure students are on task so that learning can take place.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in English or a related field.
  • Recent experience teaching English at secondary school level.
  • Strong behaviour/classroom management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members.
