Job Overview:

Barnardo's is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team in Coalville, Leicestershire. As a key member of our Contextual Safeguarding Home, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people between 8-18 years old.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trust and develop nurturing relationships with service users, promoting their independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young people.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

Requirements:

  • Hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or be willing to achieve this within the required timeframe.
  • Be motivated by the opportunity to make a positive difference in young people's lives and create a safe space for them to thrive.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding and protection of vulnerable children and young people.
  • Be flexible to commit to sleep-ins and shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
