Salary Range

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum



Job Description
This Mechanical Engineer position requires an individual with a proven track record of designing hydraulic and mechanical systems, ideally with 8-10 years of experience. As part of a multi-disciplinary project team, you will contribute to developing and delivering water TOTEX solutions. Key responsibilities include leading mechanical optioneering, designing equipment, liaising with the supply chain, collaborating with the design team, overseeing process outputs, ensuring Health & Safety excellence, and promoting project objectives related to digital transformation and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and analysis of key mechanical options for review and agreement with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Design calculations for sizing mechanical, hydraulic, power generating, and building services equipment.
  • Liaise with the supply chain to assess and understand the latest technologies during optioneering.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop 3D models and solutions.
  • Oversee outputs for various processes, including P&IDs, data sheets, HAZID and HAZOP studies, and commissioning plans.
  • Support the team in achieving excellence in Health & Safety by producing safe designs that discharge obligations under CDM Regulations and standards.
  • Identify and promote opportunities to meet project objectives related to digital transformation, sustainability, innovation, and people development.


Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required, along with extensive practical experience in designing hydraulic and mechanical systems. A good understanding of modular build and construction processes, electrical control, instrumentation, and switchgear equipment and suppliers is also essential. Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills are necessary for success in this role.
