Zachary Daniels, a leading R&D company, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Edinburgh. Due to sustained growth and an upcoming product launch, this role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to the company's success.

The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO and be involved in various projects, including quality improvements, introducing new technologies, and designing and implementing manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Design verification and testing
  • Building and implementing assembly processes
  • Implementing design changes through design reviews
  • Creating manufacture drawings and quality specifications
  • Liaising with the supply chain to understand their requirements
  • Tolerance analysis

In addition, the candidate will be involved in designing new parts and products, including brainstorming, designing, and prototyping, as well as CAD modeling, 3D printing, and testing. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge and experience in mechanical design
  • Significant practical experience (3-5 years) and/or a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Commercial and budget awareness, with experience in controlling project costs
  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage technicians and work packages
  • A full understanding of relevant engineering and quality standards (ISO 13485 preferred)
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, including Solid Works
  • A broad understanding of the engineering life cycle, with experience in multiple phases
