Nuclear Process Engineer Opportunity

Anderselite is seeking a skilled Nuclear Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will assist and support the Design Manager in delivering project scope.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the delivery of nuclear process work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule, and cost.
  2. Responsible for managing the technical aspects of nuclear process engineering packages from identification of the need through to handover.
  3. Develop, lead, and manage one or more technical design packages, agreeing project-related objectives, managing designer performance, and making appropriate technical management responses.
  4. Provide Subject Matter Expert advice as per discipline.
  5. Ensure that design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.
  6. Plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and leading the project's technical planning process.
  7. Ensure effective Quality Management Arrangements, operating and delivering through compliance with the client's Business Management System and Technical Manual.
  8. Ensure that the processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented, with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.
  9. Ensure that staff and contractors are familiar with the hazards and risks associated with the work undertaken by the delegated engineering team through effective management and communication of the Risk Assessment.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. A degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  2. Preferably Chartered Engineer status and member of a relevant institute or significant demonstrable engineering experience and capable of registration with the Engineering Council at CEng level.

Nuclear Knowledge:

  1. Nuclear Introductory Course or equivalent nuclear and/or marine system knowledge.
  2. Design and substantiation of process engineering solutions to relevant codes for satisfying Nuclear Safety Functions, with particular experience in dock structures preferred.
  3. Knowledge of process design of large-scale industrial plants.
  4. Knowledge of construction techniques employed for Nuclear Safety related process systems.

Experience:

  1. Sound project specification, planning, project management, and budgeting experience.
  2. Sound understanding of company and departmental procedures relating to Design, Health & Safety, and Quality requirements, and ability to manage projects accordingly.
  3. Working knowledge of relevant engineering office computer applications.
  4. Experience of design support to construction, operation, refit/repair of conventional and nuclear submarines and/or facilities.
