About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Sense, the National Deafblind and Rubella Association. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with complex disabilities, including those who are deafblind.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to individuals with complex needs, including assistance with daily living tasks, personal care, and medication management.
  • Support individuals to participate in activities and engage with their community, promoting independence and social inclusion.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including healthcare teams, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with individuals, their families, and carers, providing emotional support and guidance as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans, ensuring that the needs and preferences of each person are met.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with individuals with complex disabilities, including those who are deafblind.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with individuals, families, and carers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and shifts.
  • Knowledge of deafblindness and its impact on individuals and their families.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
