Mechanical Project Manager Job Description

Oxford-based company seeks a skilled Mechanical Project Manager to lead projects across various sectors, including health, education, and infrastructure. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing resources, ensuring successful project outcomes, and maintaining excellent relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project resources to achieve successful outcomes, technically, commercially, safely, and to client satisfaction.
  • Assist in the pre-construction and design process, including tendering and quote evaluation.
  • Attend project handover meetings and ensure smooth delivery of projects.
  • Plan and manage labour on allocated projects, including subcontract and agency labour.
  • Assist in the production of project programmes and progress reports.
  • Monitor progress against programme and issue regular reports to principal contractors.
  • Liaise with clients, main contractors, subcontractors, consultants, architects, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Produce company quality manuals, health and safety files, and other project documentation.
  • Monitor and report on project budgets, including provision of MCA information and attendance at monthly review meetings.
  • Produce O&M manuals and complete subcontractor/supplier report forms at project completion.
  • Support project supervisors with site management and oversee the development of company apprentices assigned to projects.
  • Attend engineering meetings, functions, and meetings, and provide general support with business development.
  • Be IT literate, including Microsoft Office 365 products, Asta PowerProject, Microsoft Project, and other construction software.
  • Have experience in managing complex projects, including major and small works, simultaneously.
