Estimator Job Description

RGB Recruitment is delighted to be supporting one of the South West's leading names within Civil Engineering and Construction. As an organisation, they are well-established and affectionately known as being the go-to company for any major infrastructure projects within the South West.

The main purpose of the role is to lead the current department and provide support for the Head of Estimating. Other duties will include:

  • Providing estimates and calculating costs of projects
  • Being responsible for any financial, technical & contractual risks
  • Fulfilling the contract by maximising gross profit
  • Providing leadership and managing and motivating a team
  • Supporting the bid team and tenders and the process from start to finish
  • Providing regular forecasts and reports to understand the progress of the project

Essential experience:

Due to the nature of the projects, it is essential that you have previous experience as an Estimator in a rail or civil engineering / infrastructure environment to include multi-disciplinary projects and/or frameworks. This role could suit someone comfortable in working from home who would then commute to Devon or Cornwall when required for business or tender meetings.

You'll be technically aware, with sound knowledge of Infrastructure delivery gained with reputable Contracting businesses though some client-side experience in addition would be a bonus.
