We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Dermatology Specialist Physician in Ayrshire.

This role will complement our existing team of skilled consultants, who support each other and our patients in delivering exceptional care. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to service development and drive innovation in dermatology.

Ayrshire offers a unique blend of scenic countryside, coastline, and world-renowned golfing destinations, all within easy reach of Glasgow and its surrounding suburbs with excellent schooling options.

Our dermatology department provides comprehensive treatment and healthcare services to a population of approximately 388,000. We operate two busy day treatment units at Crosshouse and Ayr, offering dressings, TL01, and PUVA treatments. Minor surgery facilities are available on site, and we have a dedicated team of specialist dermatology nurses who provide review clinics for patients with eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions.

We are supported by a multidisciplinary team, including four permanent consultant dermatologists, one bank consultant dermatologist, and several junior doctors. Our team also includes experienced dermatology nurses, a skin cancer nurse specialist, and a team of nurse practitioners.

The Terms and Conditions of service are those determined by the New Specialist Doctor Contract (Scotland) 2022, and this post is offered on a 9+1 programmed activity basis. Applications from individuals who may wish to work less programmed activities or job share basis will be considered. Opportunities may exist for extra programmed activities subject to service requirements.

The estimated salary for this position is £85,000-£110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. The post may involve participation on the 9am-5pm on-call rota (1 in 6 when all consultant posts filled), 7 days per week. We are open to considering applications from candidates who wish to work less than full-time hours or job share.
