An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Rheumatology Consultant to join the dynamic team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will have the chance to further develop and expand the rheumatology service, delivering patient-centred care to the highest standard.

Job Description

This 8PA post includes 4 Rheumatology clinics per week in an outpatient setting, providing clinical advice and support for ward referrals. The post holder will work closely with specialist nurses, an advanced rheumatology practitioner, physiotherapy, OT, and Podiatry teams to provide comprehensive care.

A strong team player, the ideal candidate will remain calm under pressure, taking charge when needed in an encouraging and supportive style. With a clear passion for high-quality and compassionate patient care, they will be committed to ensuring the continuity of the exemplary Rheumatology service already provided at Rochdale Infirmary and Fairfield General Hospital.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Providing clinical advice and support for ward referrals.
  • Leading and managing the Rheumatology clinic sessions.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance service delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • M.B.Ch.B or equivalent qualification.
  • Specialist registration with the General Medical Council and licensed to practice.
  • Completion of higher training (CCT) in Rheumatology or within 6 months of obtaining CCT at time of interview.
  • Dual accreditation (for those interested in supporting general medicine).
