Mechanical Technician/Team Leader

About the Role
The Estates Team Leader plays a key role in the Estates Engineering Maintenance Services at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will support the Estates Officers and maintenance team in delivering maintenance programmes that contribute to the Trust's objectives in a safe, cost-effective, and efficient manner, compliant with legislation, Health Technical Memorandums (HTM), and good practice.
Main Responsibilities
The post holder will be a member of a small group of managerial and technical staff who manage and operate complex technical systems and processes across the Trust, ensuring compliance with Trust standard operating procedures, policies, and procedures, and legislation.
The post holder will be appointed to Named/Designated/Competent/Authorised person's roles in keeping with requirements laid down in Hospital Technical Memorandums (HTM) and Health and Safety documentation.
The post holder will support the Estates Officers in developing and implementing working strategies and processes.
The post holder will be responsible for the implementation and sign-off of management documentation, along with the responsibility of asset management and technical support for the maintenance, routine planned, and reactive maintenance tasks across all trades, according to competence and skill level, and allocation from Estates Officers and Managers.
The post holder will complete data entry into paper and electronic systems, including the completion of all job dockets, asset management details, time sheets, and stock sheets.
The post holder will participate in the management 'On call' rota.
The post holder may be required to support on-call duties during periods of operational pressures to help deliver the Estates Maintenance and Repairs function, commensurate with the duties outlined in this job description.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- HNC / Level 4 Apprenticeship Diploma or equivalent, or relevant demonstrable experience in mechanical or electrical engineering commensurate with the requirements of the role
- A recognised form of computer skills training for Spreadsheets/databases or ability to demonstrate effective use of programmes
- Able to plan, organise, and manage own work activities
- Able to accurately interpret information relating to H&S, legislation Mandatory requirements
Desirable
- Knowledge of relevant Trust policies, health and safety, and other legislation relevant to the position
- HND / Level 5 Apprenticeship Diploma or equivalent
Experience
Essential
- Able to work independently and make decisions based on analysis of information
- Experience of supervising maintenance teams
Desirable
- Possess demonstrable knowledge of NHS procedures for the operational maintenance of acute hospital sites
