Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Software Developer to join our team at the Department of Computer Science, University of Oxford. As a key member of our research group, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing machine learning models and frameworks to enable precise metrics measurements on camera trap images of wild animals.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch/TensorFlow) and ML-ops for scaling systems into production. You will need to collaborate with field biologists to understand their needs and problems, and work independently to manage projects and deliver results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt existing deep learning models and frameworks to build an efficient and user-friendly processing pipeline.
  • Collaborate with field biologists to understand their needs and problems.
  • Manage projects and deliver results independently.

Requirements:

  • PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Extensive experience in machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch/TensorFlow).
  • Experience in software engineering development.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Salary: £45,585 - £54,395 per annum, depending on experience.

Location: Department of Computer Science, University of Oxford.
