Job Summary:

Prime Appointments is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team in designing and manufacturing production line equipment. As a key member of a small team, you will be responsible for producing designs and drawings for mechanical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize AutoCAD and Inventor to create designs for enclosures, conveyors, ductwork, equipment layouts, and other mechanical items.
  • Develop Bills of Materials (BoMs), schedules, schematics, and sub-assembly drawings.
  • Modify drawings to reflect design changes.
  • Act as a liaison between the drawing office and other departments.

Requirements:

  • Must have experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in an industrial design role.
  • Must possess a recognized engineering qualification.
  • A working knowledge of Autodesk products, such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Autodesk Vault, is preferred.
  • Other 3D CAD software knowledge, such as SolidWorks, may be considered.
  • Experience with BS 8888 drafting standards would be beneficial.
  • Must have a good understanding of engineering techniques, including machining, sheet metal, and fabrication.
  • Must be able to interpret equipment assembly drawings.
