Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Building Careers UK. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the delivery of our refurbishment and new build projects, working closely with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure smooth project execution and address any financial or contractual concerns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
  • Procure cost-effective quotations for materials and services.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure smooth project execution and address any financial or contractual concerns.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and perform cost control activities, identifying and mitigating potential overruns.
  • Evaluate and process contractor payments, variations, and claims in a timely and fair manner.
  • Provide financial reports and forecasts to management, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Ensure adherence to public sector procurement rules and regulations, maintaining the highest standards of transparency and integrity.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying, with a strong background in cost control and contract management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential overruns.
  • Proficient in the use of construction software and technology, including project management tools and financial systems.
