About the Role:

We're This Week In Fintech, the bank for innovative companies who want to build and launch financial products. Our goal is to empower businesses to create seamless payment, expense, and savings experiences for their customers.

As a key member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our compliance with UK financial services regulations and industry best practices. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping us navigate the complex landscape of financial services regulation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deep knowledge of UK financial services regulatory framework and industry best practices in system design and operation.
  • 8+ years' experience working in the UK financial services industry or in a professional services firm serving challenger banks.
  • Presentation of regulatory matters to senior colleagues, including interactions with C-suite and leadership teams.
  • Experience working with the UK's financial services regulators - the FCA and/or the PRA.
  • Holistic oversight of systems and controls across a new bank, focusing on economic crime, compliance, or risk.

Qualities:

  • A research-oriented mindset for diving into source regulation, analyzing, and applying it.
  • A collaborative mindset and interest in working closely with all business areas, coaching those with limited knowledge of 3LoD models, and building relationships to operate as an assurance business partner.

As a hybrid-remote team, you'll work closely with colleagues who share your passion for innovative fintech and regulatory compliance. You'll need:

  • A high degree of comfort adopting new software tools for document drafting, collaboration, and communication.
  • A love of writing, as you'll draft a variety of documents to ensure clarity and readability.
