Job Title: Assistant Professor in Accounting and Finance

Heriot-Watt University Malaysia is seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our team as an Assistant Professor in Accounting and Finance.

About the Role

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in accounting and finance, who can contribute to our teaching and research activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in accounting, as well as contributing to the development of courses and programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess modules in accounting, with a focus on delivering high-quality teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of courses and programmes, including innovating in teaching delivery and engaging in faculty administrative roles.
  • Build strong links with colleagues in Dubai and Malaysia to deliver high-quality teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Undertake research in one or more of the School's research areas at internationally competitive levels.
  • Develop and maintain strong links with business and industry, external organisations, and the education sector.
  • Undertake leadership and administrative tasks associated with programme planning, preparation for examination boards, and progression boards.
Requirements
  • PhD in Accounting.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Evidence of a developing publication record in accounting and finance.
  • Experience of teaching and assessing modules in accounting.
