About the Company:
Our client is a leading wood processing company, providing a wide range of sawn softwood products to various sectors, including construction, pallet, fencing, and packaging.
About the Role:
As a Group Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing management accounts, leading budget and audit processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing financial insights.
You will be based in either Enniskillen or Troon, with occasional travel involved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and variance analysis.
- Complete HMRC returns, including VAT and plastic tax.
- Review and authorise bank payments.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, prepare and review audit schedules, and lead the audit process.
- Identify and implement financial reporting process improvements.
- Work with tax advisors to identify RDEC projects and submit applications.
- Liaise with tax advisors for compliance and planning.
- Evaluate and support capital investment opportunities.
- Prepare financial projections and assist in developing financial models.
- Monitor and report on financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Proven ability to prepare comprehensive financial reports.
- Experience with financial controls and compliance.
