Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 support to students with special educational needs, ensuring their individual requirements are met effectively.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement adaptive learning strategies, tailoring methods to suit each student's learning style and needs.
  • Assist with classroom activities, providing focused support in literacy, numeracy, and other core areas.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, prioritising student safety and well-being at all times.
  • Foster a positive atmosphere that encourages students to participate and feel valued, contributing to a supportive classroom and school environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress regularly, offering valuable insights to inform learning plans and set achievable goals.
  • Respond constructively to challenging behaviours, using compassion and patience to help students manage emotions and build resilience.

Requirements:

  • Experience as an Educational Support Specialist or in a similar role within a school setting.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ, are desirable but not essential.
  • A passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Must hold a current enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
