Operations Director

Aon is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead the underwriting business in Chelmsford. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to ensure services are delivered to agreed KPIs and continuously improve processes and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate as the go-to person for operational queries from underwriting and claims teams
  • Work with underwriting and claims teams to review and continuously improve existing processes
  • Support the growth of the AUM business by working with product development teams to structure processes for new products and services
  • Support the operations function by investigating ad hoc queries or challenges to find root cause
  • Monitor and support adoption of standard processes and procedures
  • Collaborate across onshore teams to ensure that the services provided by our offshore partners meet agreed service levels, and flag any challenges appropriately
  • Manage electronic stamp production through product renewal cycles
  • Assess and raise requests for system or reporting changes from underwriting and claims teams as part of the system change triage team
  • Support management and reporting of gross premium income limits, including flagging any limit breaches

Requirements

  • Proven experience of Operations within Insurance
  • Technical knowledge of Lloyd's/London Market and non-Lloyd's processes
  • Self-motivated, reliable and resourceful
  • Experience of structuring and delivery of new initiatives / projects
  • An understanding of electronic trading via PPL
  • Effective stakeholder relationship management
  • Knowledge of process analysis, streamlining and improvement
