Your goal will be to ensure we deliver quality code and actively manage and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create solutions addressing high-impact technology and business priorities
  • Be competent in multiple contexts, including programming languages, security, automation, testing, and business domains, and be the go-to person for many people (inside and outside of their team)
  • Participate in strategic technology decisions and learn how these decisions impact Discover as a whole
  • Proactively identify and mitigate issues based on intuition and experience in multiple domains
  • Coach technology communities at Discover

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here's what we need from you:

  • Bachelor's – Computer Science or related
  • Experience in Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, or related
  • Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of proficient on the Dreyfus engineering scale

Preferred Qualifications

Bonus points if you have:

  • Big Data Framework such as Spark
  • Cloud Platform experience specifically AWS
  • Java and Python
  • Automation experience
