Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineered to Order (ETO) Medium Voltage and Package Sub-Station Design Team in Leeds. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating electro-mechanical designs from initial concepts to final engineered solutions, ensuring they meet customer requirements and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop electro-mechanical designs for ETO solutions, considering product variations and core design restrictions.
  • Liaise with technical teams to ensure design solutions meet required standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with Contracts/Project Engineers to ensure customer approval of designs and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Create 3D models/assemblies using Pro-Engineer and 2D layout drawings using AutoCad.
  • Develop part/assembly/kit references and Bills of Material on MRP system (SAP).
  • Support Purchasing, Logistics, and Quality Assurance teams, providing necessary drawings and technical information.
  • Develop basic ETO assembly procedures/guides to assist the shop floor during production.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of MV switchgear & Package Sub-Station or a similar industry is desirable.
  • Proficient in the design of mechanical systems, structures, and assemblies to deliver safe, functioning, and reliable products.
  • Proficient in the use of both 3D and 2D mechanical design tools such as Pro-Engineer (3D) and AutoCad (2D), or other similar design software packages.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is essential.
