Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Operations Manager to join our team at EdEx – Education Recruitment. As an Assistant School Financial Manager, you will be responsible for providing financial support to our secondary school in Waltham Forest (East London).

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the School Business Director in establishing and monitoring internal financial procedures, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Advise staff on correct financial procedures and deliver in-house training on resource management.
  • Ensure best value in the acquisition of services and resources through effective procurement.
  • Prepare information for statistical returns and other reports as required.
  • Manage the administration of bank accounts and charge cards.
  • Provide regular financial reports to budget holders.
  • Manage the day-to-day ordering, processing, and payment of goods and services.
  • Assist in planning and managing cash flow.
  • Ensure the school contracts register is up-to-date and all contracts are reviewed for best value.
  • Manage the 'School Fund' effectively.
  • Oversee payroll and pensions administration, including data entry and timesheet processing.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and structure workload with autonomy.
  • Experience in Admin or Finance, preferably in a school setting.
