Role Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fire and Security Engineer to join our Facilities Services Team at HMP Dovegate. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all security systems, fire detection, and life safety equipment across the site.

Key Accountabilities
  • Maintain and troubleshoot security systems, fire detection, and life safety equipment
  • Investigate issues with plant and equipment installed on site and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Support colleagues from various trade backgrounds within the FM team
Essential Requirements
  • Relevant electrical/electronic qualification (ONC) or equivalent
  • Demonstrated expertise in installing, testing, commissioning, and servicing IP & Analogue CCTV Systems, Conventional Access Control Systems, Conventional and Addressable Intruder Detection, and Fire Alarm Systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of Fire Protection Industry, large security systems, and relevant industry standards (BS EN 50131, BS EN 50132, BS EN 50133, BS5839, and BS6266)
  • Hold current IPAF Licences and have a good understanding of Safe Systems of Work
