Elections and Local Land Charges Officer

The Isle of Wight Council is a local authority that serves the community on the Isle of Wight. We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic person to join our team as an Elections and Local Land Charges Officer.
Job SummaryThis is a rare opportunity to gain valuable experience at the heart of the Council's democratic and regulatory process. You will actively contribute to maximising electoral registration, assist with running both local and UK-wide elections, and ensure that searches of our local authority property databases are carried out to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- To work within the Electoral Services team to support the delivery of elections and local land charges services.
- To assist in the processing and maintenance of electoral records and property information.
- To provide administrative support for the team, including responding to customer enquiries and managing data.
We are looking for an individual who possesses or expects to obtain a minimum of 4 GCSE's, to include English Language and Mathematics, at a minimum of Grade C/4, and ideally be educated to A-Level, hold Level 3 qualifications or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of work experience.
The ability to interpret maps at various scales would be useful, but not essential. You will receive training in all aspects of Local Land Charges and Elections work, and you will also study for the Association of Electoral Administrators Foundation Course and Certificate in Electoral Administration.

Salary InformationThe salary for this position is estimated to be between £24,293.00 and £25,979.00 per annum, depending on the candidate's level of experience and qualifications.
