Job Opportunity: Placement Civil Construction Engineer

Farrans Construction is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Placement Civil Construction Engineer to join our team in Northern Ireland. As a key member of our infrastructure development team, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a leading construction company known for its commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Role Overview

As a Placement Civil Construction Engineer, you will be responsible for engaging in daily site activities, reporting to senior engineers, and collaborating with industry experts to deepen your understanding of your project. You will also have the opportunity to work on a significant infrastructure project in Northern Ireland, focusing on enhancing the Northern Irish Water system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake surveys and setting-out on site
  • Prepare drawings and calculations to ensure quality control and compliance procedures are adhered to for engineering
  • Monitor construction progress to ensure that deadlines are being met
  • Liaise with clients and carry out site investigations
  • Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and other parties involved in the construction project to ensure that all work is completed according to specifications
  • Liaise with quantity surveyors about the ordering and the pricing of materials
  • Ensure that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to

Requirements

  • Studying a Civil or Construction/Project Management Degree
  • Hold a full UK driving license
  • Passionate about starting a career in the civils industry
  • High attention to detail coupled with meticulous planning and organisational skills
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in all aspects of engineering and looking for a dynamic workplace that provides an outstanding career opportunity
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work flexibly in a team, and a strong work ethic
