Decontamination Technician

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Decontamination Technician to join our team at York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (LLP). This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of infection prevention and control.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of the hospital are cleaned, sterilised and decontaminated to the highest standards. You will work closely with our facilities team to identify and implement effective cleaning protocols, as well as providing training and guidance to staff members on infection control procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective cleaning protocols to maintain high standards of infection prevention and control.
• Provide training and guidance to staff members on infection control procedures.
• Work closely with the facilities team to identify and address any issues related to cleaning and sterilisation.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. Environmental Health, Infection Prevention).
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good understanding of infection control policies and procedures.
