About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support non-verbal students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with a small group of children, helping them to access the curriculum and develop essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support non-verbal students in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
  • Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and specialists.
  • Use visual aids, communication devices, and other resources to facilitate understanding and expression.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages social interactions among peers.
  • Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), particularly non-verbal learners.
  • A strong understanding of special educational needs and effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children.
