The purpose of this role is to utilize patient administration and operational systems to actively validate, track, and manage referral to treatment processes in a patient's pathway and 18-week target.
Main Responsibilities- To ensure adherence to national, local waiting times, and targets at all times.
- To monitor and have ownership of data quality indicators impacting RTT pathways, making recommendations for corrections or improvements to processes.
- To have an understanding and appreciation of ICSU/Speciality areas not adhering to real-time processes and the impact on patient pathways, initiating or recommending corrective action or improvements to processes.
- To navigate administration and clinical systems, using Whittington Health information systems to monitor patient pathway progression, monitoring appointments, and attendance through the use of Medway and other IT systems.
- To observe legal and Trust data confidentiality, security, and quality requirements.
- To work with a 'problem-solving approach' to identify solutions resolving daily issues as they arise and escalate where appropriate.
- To manage own workload and work autonomously.
- To implement improvements to the administrative element of the RTT pathway.
- To proactively identify emerging issues that may cause delays at any point in a patient's pathway, highlighting improvements in the administration or any other aspect of the pathway, encouraging real-time workflows.
- To work closely with Line Manager, Operational Directors, Service Leads, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure all patients that are not scheduled due to insufficient capacity are managed chronologically.
- A proven track record of working in NHS trusts and significant exposure to operational managers.
- An excellent knowledge of workflows and data sets within relevant hospital systems.
- Advanced IT skills and competence with Windows-based media – Word, Outlook, Excel.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
