About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our S&P Global Market Intelligence legal team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in providing dedicated support to our business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice on privacy and regulatory matters, including data protection and information security laws and regulations.
  • Draft and implement privacy strategies, negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), and other privacy-related documentation with clients.
  • Advise the legal team and business on various related matters, including commercial licensing transactions.
  • Develop expertise in multiple areas of law to counsel internal clients on business and legal risks throughout the customer relationship.
  • Negotiate, draft, and review various commercial agreements, including data licenses, software licenses, and strategic alliance agreements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate business and legal risks related to new products and initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Market Intelligence Legal Team, offering strategic and legal insights across different business areas.
Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience as a practicing lawyer/legal counsel, with a background in commercial contracts from a law firm or in-house legal environment.
  • Experience in both privacy and regulatory compliance in technology or financial company.
  • Proficiency in negotiating and drafting commercial technology, data, and software licensing contracts.
  • Familiarity with compliance, intellectual property, and data privacy.
