About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Air Quality Graduate Consultant to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our Air Quality team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality air quality assessments and studies for a variety of projects with developers, local authorities, government, and industrial clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct air quality monitoring, including site assessment, preparation, and maintenance
  • Develop and implement air quality dispersion models in combination with GIS
  • Analyze data and create emissions inventories
  • Provide air quality input into environmental statements
  • Assist in the coordination of multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Prepare tenders and proposals

Requirements
  • MSc or PhD in Air Quality (Meteorology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, and Project Management, and Climate Science, Environmental Management will be considered if there is an Air Quality focus)
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients, both verbally and in writing
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to structure and prioritize work effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and a hard-working attitude with ambition and drive
  • Excellent research and report writing skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently without losing initiative and focus
  • Ability to work flexibly under pressure, responding to changing project and programme demands
Preferred Qualifications
  • Awareness of GIS, modeling, or programming skills would be an advantage
  • Previous experience of working in a consultancy environment would be beneficial, including work placements or relevant voluntary experience
  • A full driving license would be beneficial as the role will involve travel for site surveys often with equipment
