The primary responsibility of this role is to transport school children to and from school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport passengers on assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Provide a friendly and supportive environment for all passengers, particularly those with special educational needs.
  • Perform routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, including passenger logs and vehicle maintenance reports.
  • Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, and school staff as necessary.

Opportunity to Upskill:

Bus drivers with at least 1 year of experience have the opportunity to advance to coach driving.

Roles & Guaranteed Hours:

  • Private hire and school runs: 50 hours per week on a Mon-Sun rota
  • School runs: 40 hours per week on a Mon-Fri rota

Umbrella Rates:

  • Monday to Friday: £19.06
  • Weekends: £22.87
  • Bank Holidays: £24.78

PAYE Rates:

  • Monday to Friday: £15.00
  • Weekends: £18.00
  • Bank Holidays: £19.50

Requirements:

  • Valid Category D Licence
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • No more than 6 points on your driving licence
  • 6 months minimum experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism
