Job Title: Data Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Controller to join our team at DNV Germany Holding GmbH. As a Data Controller, you will be responsible for managing finance within the Ocean Ecology Group and serving as the contact point for the external accountant in Iceland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage finance team (2) & finance operations within Ocean Ecology Group and be the contact point for the external accountant in Iceland.
  • Perform and manage the monthly/quarterly reporting process of relevant entities.
  • Perform periodic balance sheet reviews, especially related to accounts receivables, work in progress, accrued expenses and cash and bank balances.
  • Perform and manage relevant entities' annual target-setting and quarterly forecasting process.
  • With the support of DNV GSS Finance, ensure that statutory and other reporting requirements for legal entities are met.
  • With the support of Åkerblå Group Finance Director, be actively involved in M&A projects (due diligence, post-merger integration and rationalism of synergies).
  • Support the Åkerblå Group Finance Director, International Director and Ocean Ecology Leaders in setting up robust business models, pricing models and cost allocation models.
  • Ensure that DNV Group governance principles concerning financial management, reporting and review processes are applied and implemented within Åkerblå international entities over time.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in finance or accountancy.
  • Relevant business experience: 5-8 years of experience as a Senior Financial Analyst, Senior Accountant, Controller, Finance Manager.
  • Very high degree of comfort and ability with Microsoft Excel (analysing data, building financial models, and drawing conclusions).
  • Comfortable with due diligence and integration-related activities through work on M&A, auditing or financial advisory. Has built business plans and models from start to finish.
  • Knowledge of (or interest in learning) DNV financial systems (Oracle, OneStream).
  • Experience in finance process, system improvement and project management.
  • Experience in a start-up / scale-up is an advantage.
  • PowerPoint expertise and presentation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • A Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) designation would be highly advantageous, as would accounting firm experience (understanding and implementing control frameworks and financial reporting).
  • Adequate understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and financial concepts.
  • Proactive, analytical, detailed, organized and have a passion for numbers.
  • Solution oriented mindset combined with a pragmatic approach.
  • Ability to deal with complex situations and have courage in decision-making.
  • Good grasp of business processes and ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to develop excellent working relationships and act as a team player.
  • Comfortable in working on multiple initiatives at the same time, prioritizing effectively to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to cope with a dynamic and changing environment.
