This Communication Therapist - Specialist Role involves working within the Speech & Language Therapy Team to provide an efficient and effective service. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own caseload of inpatients with acquired swallowing and/or communication disorders in acute medicine.

The role requires a strong background in speech and language therapy, with a focus on developing and maintaining skills in assessment, treatment, and management of complex communication and swallowing disorders. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and diagnose patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders.">
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing needs.">
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and carers on communication and swallowing strategies.">
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and maintain evidence-based practice.">

Requirements:

  • BSc (Hons) or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy.">
  • Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).">
  • Experience in acute medicine setting.">
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practice.">

Salary and Benefits:

A salary of £45,720 - £73,085 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including generous annual leave and pension scheme.
