Contract Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our client's team in Ashford, Kent.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of a busy manufacturing facility by ensuring the reliable performance of its equipment and systems.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Carry out both reactive and preventative maintenance on a wide range of plant facilities and equipment, including production lines, storage areas, and site utilities such as cooling towers and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to proactively address potential issues and implement solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments regarding engineering matters, ensuring clear understanding and timely resolution of concerns.
  • Contribute to achieving factory Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by identifying opportunities for process improvement and creative problem-solving.
  • Implement cost-saving measures wherever possible while optimizing the use of available time and resources.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer in a similar industrial setting, with a minimum of 5 years in a relevant role.
  • Strong understanding of electrical wiring regulations (17th/18th Edition BS 7671).
  • Extensive fault-finding expertise on PLC systems, SCADA, power and control circuits, pneumatics, mechanical drives, and conveyor systems.
  • Ability to work independently as the sole engineer on shift, taking full responsibility for site maintenance and repairs.
  • Experience with production wastewater and cooling tower facility checks and repairs.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Word and Excel.
