About our Programme:

Galliford Try is committed to delivering high-quality construction projects across the East Midlands and East of England. We are seeking an Apprentice Planner to join our team and contribute to our mission to improve the UK's built environment.

Your Role:

As an Apprentice Planner, you will assist in providing construction planning support to live onsite projects. You will work closely with our experienced team to develop your skills and knowledge in project management, logistics, and sequencing. You will also be responsible for updating trackers, introducing new software, and assisting with tender/pre-construction programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain an understanding of project management, logistics, and sequencing
  • Ascertain and report progress on live projects, utilizing Asta Powerproject and associated SiteProgress mobile app
  • Update trackers and trial the introduction of new software, where appropriate
  • Assist with tender/pre-construction programmes, managing enquiries for temporary services, fencing, security, etc.
  • Interpreting programmes and creating phasing drawings (in Microsoft Powerpoint) including logistics/constraints/plant/access, etc.
  • Visit sites to ascertain conditions and constraints to be taken into account when preparing tender programmes and method statements
  • Liaise with internal and external key stakeholders and third parties to establish optimum, compliant programmes
  • Collate/Assist/Support in the production of As-Built records
  • Assist with the production of clear and concise statements describing the programme strategy and construction methodology
  • Develop an understanding of Preliminaries Assessment
  • Become familiar with the Galliford Try BMS and Information Management systems
