Job Title: Senior Chartered Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Chartered Engineer to join our team at Pertemps TM. As a key member of our engineering division, you will be responsible for leading and delivering complex structural engineering projects across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote and embody the company vision, delivering personal and company goals.
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism and diligence, ensuring the highest standards of work.
  • Assist other staff wherever possible, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Carry out tasks assigned in a timely manner, prioritizing deadlines and project requirements.
  • Participate in the development of the company through feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Conduct research, review, and complete Technical Notes, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Develop relationships with existing and potential collaborators, establishing professional networks.
  • Engage in social activities, promoting a positive company culture.
  • Undertake the role of assigned mentor, providing guidance and support to junior staff.
  • Manage projects, including leading meetings and workshops, accompanying engineers to meetings and sites, and understanding project requirements.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 10 years senior engineer experience, with design, construction, and project management expertise.
  • Chartered status in a relevant engineering institution.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with excellent written, drawn, and verbal communication skills.
  • Superb time management and professionalism, with a growth mindset and ability to accept constructive criticism.
  • Excellent team working and leadership skills, with a valid driver's license.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Filling in timesheets weekly.
  • Loading, Forces & Deflection diagram for all beams & frames.
  • Following calculation, drawing, filing & report writing templates and guidance.
  • Monthly production and review of Technical Notes.
  • Increasing / improving profitability throughout the employment, with a target of £150 per hour by the end of year 1.
  • Delivery of agreed 90 day goals.
  • Any other goals or targets to be agreed with the Director.
