Ambitious Retail Business Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished area support manager to join our trading team at Cancer Research UK, a renowned organization dedicated to beating cancer. As an ambassador for the company, you will play a pivotal role in maximizing income through people, resources, and stock within your assigned area.
About the RoleThis dynamic position involves working closely with the Area Manager and area teams to achieve key performance indicators, including income, expenditure budgets, processing targets, average selling price, sell-through rates, fundraising, and customer service. You will be responsible for supporting the commercial running of your area, making informed decisions based on data, and staying abreast of trends on the high street and amongst charity retailers.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the achievement of key performance indicators across the area.
- Support the commercial running of your area and make commercial decisions based on data.
- Stay aware of trends on the high street and amongst charity retailers, applying this knowledge to your area.
- Support the Area Manager and area teams in areas such as recruitment, development, retention, performance management, equality and diversity, and fundraising.
- Manage stock management and stock initiatives across the area, including generating quality donated goods, stock selection and distribution, and pricing to maximize income.
- Assist with the implementation of national volunteer recruitment campaigns and support other divisional and national projects.
- Deputise for the Area Manager as required.
To succeed in this role, you should possess excellent commercial awareness, business acumen, and leadership skills. Experience in retail management, particularly in fashion, homeware, or gifts, is desirable. You must also have the ability to work effectively independently and adapt to changing situations. Strong communication and networking skills are essential for building relationships with stakeholders and influencing others.
