Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Youth Support Worker to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Youth Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers and staff to support students with SEMH and SEND needs in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the staff team to contribute to student's EHCPs and individual needs academically and socially
  • Plan and deliver interventions alongside the teacher
  • Support in managing the behavior of pupils while they undertake their work and ensure a constructive and positive environment is always enforced
  • De-escalate situations within the classroom in the correct way, certifying safeguarding procedures are always adhered
  • Report any safeguarding concerns using the school's referral procedures and safeguarding policies

Requirements:

  • Previous school experience or experience in a supportive role
  • Ability to work with students with SEMH and SEND needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Valid enhanced DBS check and subscription to the DBS Update Service
