Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Manager to lead our team in delivering the functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in managing technical documentation and associated risks.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, Engineering Chartership, and significant knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as team leadership experience, are essential for this role.

As a member of our Electrical Power Systems Definition team, you will work on the UK's next-generation SSN design, incorporating technology from the UK, Australia, and the United States. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in defining system elements required for the submarine design and build process, including design documentation, spatial modeling, and build outputs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to travel to various locations throughout the UK, including BAE, customer, and supplier sites. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage an engineering team to deliver the functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment.
  2. Manage technical documentation and associated risks.
  3. Provide advice on electrical power technical aspects across a broad range of engineering disciplines.
  4. Engage with customers and suppliers to provide solutions to complex problems.
  5. Take a leading role in guiding the team through the systems definition process.
  6. Provide leadership and mentoring of more junior team members to ensure the necessary capability and skills development.

Requirements:

  1. Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering background.
  2. Engineering Chartership required (or equivalent experience demonstrated).
  3. Significant knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Team Leadership experience.
