Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct specialist mammographic examinations, including interventional procedures such as pre-surgical wire insertions, to provide high-quality diagnostic services for patients within the Breast Radiology directorate.
  2. Provide expert advice and training in wire localisations to specialist radiology registrars and breast sonographers.
  3. Supervise and mentor specialist radiology registrars, breast sonographers, specialist radiographers, and student radiographers in breast radiology.
Requirements

This role requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group, an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

NHS Scotland is introducing a reduced working week of 37 hours, with no change in pay, from 1 April 2024. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. However, some service areas may require temporary adjustments to working patterns, which will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
