HGV Driver Job Description
**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a dedicated HGV Driver to transport steel materials to and from job sites in the construction industry.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Safely transport steel materials to and from job sites using a Class 2 flatbed truck with Hiab
* Operate the Hiab to deliver materials and secure loads using straps, chains, or other appropriate methods
* Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks
* Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed
* Use tools/power tools to bolt and erect steel components
* Operate long reach Hiabs for the safe installation of steel components and other contracted lifts
**Requirements:**
* Previous experience as a delivery driver, preferably in a commercial driving role
* Familiarity with operating a flatbed truck is highly desired
**Compensation:**
* Salaried monthly pay after 12 week temp to perm (£32k - £38k)
* Hourly rate: £15.39/h to £18.27/h depending on experience
**Working Hours:**
* 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
* Regularly required to start at 7am to get a head start loading the lorry, but always paid accordingly
