Description:

A leading passenger rail sector company is seeking a dedicated Fleet Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. As Fleet Manager, you will lead and manage a team of Fleet Engineers to develop and improve rolling stock. The team will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing fleet development initiatives to enhance safety, reliability, and passenger experience.

  • Attend regular meetings on fleet development and represent the company at RoSCo and supplier meetings.
  • Ensure effective management of fleet development activities to minimize potential risks.
  • Support technical investigations and determine root cause and failure analysis.
  • Provide regular reporting on fleet development activities.
  • Manage a diverse workload within a large team of qualified Fleet Engineers.
  • Apply project management skills, particularly structured time management and planning, resource identification and utilization, and prioritization.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Railway Group Standards, ROGS, and other relevant rail-related standards, including Interoperability (RIR) and Technical Standards for Interoperability.
  • Achieve Personal Track Safety Certification.

The role offers days-based working Monday to Friday with potential for hybrid working. The company provides a salary of circa £60,000 - £65,000, plus excellent benefits including free rail travel on the relevant network, discounted rail travel on other networks, an excellent pension, healthcare, and other comprehensive benefits.
