Injection Moulding Technical Manager

Workshop Recruitment is seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Technical Manager to join our client based in the Littlehampton area. The company specializes in injection moulding and cleanroom assembly for medical devices.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Moulding Production team, consisting of 21 employees across day and night shifts, as well as the planning and organisation of the Class 8 cleanroom mould shop, which houses 12 injection mould machines ranging from T.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day activities of the Moulding Production team, including training, health and safety, sickness, and holidays.
- Oversee all mould tooling maintenance and servicing, liaising with external tooling suppliers.
- Act as point of contact for all tooling enquiries, arranging quotations and managing suppliers for new tools and tooling repairs.
- Implement lean activities and upskill staff to improve production processes and efficiencies.
Requirements:
- Time served with experience in Toolmaking, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in injection moulding tooling management and/or Manufacturing.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within an injection moulding company.
- Proficient in lean techniques (5S).
- Excellent knowledge of injection mould tooling, tool making, tooling suppliers, and the plastics industry.
- Good computer skills, including the ability to read and write CAD data, project planning, and email communication, along with a solid proficiency in CAD software and project planning tools.
- Strong customer relationship management and phone manner skills.
- Hold a full driving license and have the ability to travel to customer sites.
This is a Monday to Friday day role with an early finish on Fridays. The company offers a profit share scheme and health cash back scheme.
